簡介

Hermann Hesse was born 2 July 1877 in Calw, Germany. He grew up in a culturally sophisticated family and underwent a rigid Protestant education. He was the sone and nephew of pietistic missionars who had worked in India for a long time.  Young Hermann Hesse was expected to underake an ecclesiastic career. He spent the years of his youth restlessly and often with great toment, curious, but questioning all obligations and requirements. In 1892, only seven months after he had started school, he escaped from the theological seminary of Maulbronn.  He was subsequently expelled from there. This was the point where Hesse started his lifelong career as a writer.  Hermann Hesse Musuem Switzerland worked together with prestigious Italian fountain pen maker Omas to make this beautiful fountain pen dedicated to this Nobel Prize Laureate for literature. On the silver cap is quoted 'Without writing, the idea of humanity does not exist.'

This beauty has a blue resin barrel, silver cap and gold-plated trim and clip, and a medium 18k gold nib.
